We now have access to Rich Text fields. These
allow users to add formatted text, or for generated text to be
displayed and edited. Interestingly, it also allows you to add any
HTML references, such as images. This can be used, for example, to
display folder information in a pleasing format, and also to
display images. The uses are many and varied. See our example
below.
Firstly the editable field with the toolbar
(optionally) hidden:
Then the toolbar appears during editing, but it
can be a bit invasive, as has been noted by other
customers:

effort.
We can now easily allow the format of fields like
this to be editing using our standard ‘Project
Settings’ form segment (from the Process Mapping Library) to
which we have added a Rich Text value type:
It should be noted that Rich Text, being a subset
of HTML, renders as HTML in grids. This is a very nice feature, and
allows some very clever and attractive grids to be designed, such
as by using coloured backgrounds, text and even images (see
below).
